About Haas Garage Door Company

In 1953 the Haas Door Company was founded by Ernest Haas, with his sons Spike, Barney, Duke Haas and Son-in-Law Donald LaHote. The company started with repair and service of overhead doors with the manufacturing business opening up in 1957.

Initially the business opened in a 5000 sq. ft. building at the corner of Route 20 & Glenwood Road, by the late 60’s the business had expanded the building to 120,000 sq. ft. with production & shipping of Haas Doors occurring worldwide.

With Duke Haas as President and Donald LaHote assuming the position of Vice President, Haas Door expanded to include electric garage door operators & the first insulated overhead door in the industry, the CIFA-200, in 1976. The CIFA marked a breakthrough with insulation and color availability never before being offered in the industry.

Eventually the CIFA led to the haas Therm Insulated Garage Door which is still in production today. This door with its color and panel style availability has become the benchmark of the door industry and is respected by experts as one to the best doors available in the marketplace.

In 1989 Haas Door was sold to the Masco Corporation out of Detroit, concluding 36 years of family ownership. Today the Haas Door is manufactured in Wauseon, Ohio in a modern state of the art 200,000 sq. ft. facility with sales and distribution in 80 countries worldwide.

The Haas Family still owns and operates the Haas Garage Door Company which does Residential & Commercial Sales and Service in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. Haas Garage Door Company has a modern state of the art showroom at the corner of Route 20 & Glenwood Road in Perrysburg, Ohio.
